Peace is the Path. Compassion lights the way.
Help us spread the reminder that in order to attain world peace, we have to have peace in our own families, in our households, in our own communities; we have to have peace in our own hearts! Simply put, Peace Starts Here. Peace starts in our own hearts. Now, perhaps more so than ever before in history, we need to achieve mastery in experiencing peace, both internally and externally. If the 100th monkey theory holds true, 100 of us with the intention of peace can make a powerful, peaceful impact on the planet. If a million of us put our minds, and our hearts to it, just imagine what we could do! The Insight: In order to have world peace, we must access the peace in our own hearts. Once reached, we must bring that peace back out into the world and share it with those around us. The Mission: The Peace Starts Here Project is committed to providing environments for and education on how to access inner peace and relationship skills for sharing that peace with others. We will do this through products designed to raise awareneess and to share the mission, the creation of a video montage shared on the Internet, a guide with tips on how to integrate the concept of Peace Starts Here into your daily life, and by providing workshops, labyrinth walks and other opportunites for people to experience inner peace. The Request: Create a short (less than a minute or two) video clip depicting you either in your daily environment, or in your favorite peaceful place stating your name, where you are, your claim that Peace Starts Here and letting your creativity and joy shine! There is no limit to how many you send—make the claim the world round! The Action: With each order or sent video in, you will receive a downloadable Peace Starts Here Action Guide with skills, tools, tips and suggestions for living a more peaceful, harmonious life. The Movement: T-shirts with the Peace Starts Here logo both remind you of your intention and commitment and share the mission/movement with others. Create your own PEACE STARTS HERE PROJECT! Possible Peace Projects: (Please send us your ideas so we can add them to the suggestion list! Once completed, please send us your name, your stoy and photos if you have one so we can register your Peace Project! Create a contemplative garden in a public or private location. Build a labyrinth. Hold an event with a peaceful intention. Create a shrine or altar to peace in your home, work, or community. Create a place of beauty for others to enjoy. Clean up a public park or garden. Purchase a property and designate it a peace sanctuary. Facilitate a peace project at your local school or church. Create a peace garden at your local hospital. THINK GLOBALLY, ACT LOCALLY, START INTERNALLY! Use peaceful, kind and loving words toward and around others. Eat your meals mindfully, peacefull. See if you can create a peaceful state in your body—even while the dentist is working on your teeth, or you are in an airplane experiencing turbulence. Peace is a state of mind. Spend on minute (or one hour) meditating with a peaceful state of mind. Say a prayer for peace. Create peaceful relationships in your own home. Contemplate gratitude until you feel it peacefully, through your whole body. Practice noticing the present moment, since that is, after all, where peace exists.
